June 2007 - Multi Tasking

Pictured this month is a new Volvo FM9-380 8 wheel rigid vehicle recently introduced into the Hallett Silbermann fleet. The vehicle is fitted with a front mounted Fassi lorry loader on an Andover plant body with beaver tail and hydraulic ramps.

With a 15 tonne carrying capacity and a crane that will lift just under 8 tonnes at 2.85 metre minimum radius, this vehicle offers tremendous possibilities for the uplift and transport of all types of equipment. Low profile ramps allow for loading of tracked or wheeled plant which is particularly helpful for machines with low ground clearance such as industrial fork lift trucks or access platforms.

The built-in winch facilitates controlled loading and unloading and can also recover disabled equipment. The vehicle ramps also fold flat, to enable longer loads to be transported.

Additionally this brand new rigid outfit offers the ability to access restricted sites where an articulated vehicle might experience difficulty
