March 2006 - Full Steam Ahead

Hallett Silbermann recently completed the movement of 28 ship's propellers of up to 6.20 metres (20'5”) diameter from South Wales to the Midlands - a journey of some 190 miles.

In order to safely undertake these movements Hallett Silbermann carried out a full route survey and organised all the necessary authorisations, including VR1's and Special Orders from the Highways Agency for 5 of the widest loads. These were moved on a Sunday to minimise traffic disruption. Part of the complex planning included the provision of 4 ‘private' escort vehicles to supplement the police resources, and laying special protection mats on grass verges at certain points to avoid unnecessary damage.

All movements were completed to our client's satisfaction in accordance with the agreed schedule, proving that once again Hallett Silbermann's attention to detail and meticulous planning ensured our client received the very best possible service.
