Pull The 'Udder' One

Recently the Hallett Silbermann Birmingham depot were asked to “moove” 5 model cows. They had "herd" that Taylor Wimpey had commissioned Telford Art College to create some artistically decorated cows for the showpiece frontage to a prestigious new housing development at Lawley Farm near Telford. When Hallett Silbermann received the enquiry we thought that someone was joking and we asked them to pull the "udder" one.

Having established that we had received a genuine request, and the enquiry was not a lot of old “bull”, we assured our client that we would not “milk” him on the price. We were confident of providing a first class service on this important job being the “cream” of specialist road transport contractors in the West Midlands.

We proceeded with the job with our usual efficiency and upon arrival our driver discovered that the cows had already “steaked” out the loading point. All that was needed were a couple of “beefy” labourers to assist with loading.

A number of photographers from the local press were present when we arrived. They soon were busy snapping away taking pictures. You can see the cows in the “udder” photographs that our Hallett Silbermann project engineer took.
