An unusual feature of the Heron Tower is that the entrance lobby will contain an enormous aquarium holding approximately 70,000 litres of water which will be home to more than 12,000 tropical marine fish collected from Heron Island located off the Great Barrier Reef, Australia.

Hallett Silbermann were contracted to transport the 12 metre long, 4 metre high aquarium, which was manufactured in the USA, to site for off loading prior to final preparation and ultimate commissioning in the reception of the new building. For transport to site, the aquarium was held within a steel protective frame which increased the load dimensions to almost 5 metres wide. The aquarium in its frame weighed 42 tons. Planning of this transport project took over 2 years.

Hallett Silbermann are well accustomed to being hired for jobs that require significant expertise to successfully deliver difficult and unusual items to restricted locations in central London.

We like to be involved in this sort of fishy business !
