Heavy Snow no problem for Hallett Silbermann

The heaviest snowfall in England for 18 years on 2nd February 2009 did not prevent Hallett Silbermann providing a full transport service to clients.

Despite appalling conditions, some essential services had to be maintained and many jobs continued in support of vital contracts thanks to the determination and skill of our experienced drivers.

Examples of the jobs carried out by Hallett Silbermann on this very snowy first Monday in February included transporting cable drums to Workington and then on to Carlisle, collecting a heavy crawler crane and jib sections from Stratford upon Avon for Brentford , uplifting steel structures for delivery to the Peak District, and moving ground engineering equipment from West Thurrock to Brighton.

Where possible, to adopt a responsible and safety-conscious policy, Hallett Silbermann contacted those customers whose jobs could safely be delayed and agreed an alternative schedule which was welcomed as many sites were unable to operate due to the almost arctic conditions.

Road safety is always a high priority and avoiding unnecessary journeys in these treacherous conditions was of some benefit. In other cases Hallett Silbermann were able ''to get the job done'' when requested for which their customers were very grateful.
